Holocaust Link

i think this is a good site about the holocaust even though it only reveals a small part of the actions nazi's did to the people they tried to exterminate. Also it gives a description and shows a photograph of Dr. Mengel who is referred to in the book Night http://www.shoah.dk/doctors/index.htm

Holocaust Reaction

No doubt there are many websites dedicated to the holocaust. This week I will attempt to write reactions to a few.
The following link is of Polish children at Auschwitz. My first reaction is sorrow obviously but once that is confusion as to why the guards forced them to stay behind the barbed wire and not let them go free.
http://history1900s.about.com/library/holocaust/blauschwitz8.htm

I like this next link because the first part. The history of The Swastika is actually pretty interesting. Like I didn't know that it became the official symbol for Nazi's in 1920.

Video Response

What did America do and how did it act to the holocaust?
The answer is not pleasant.
The first thing that should be said is: anti-Semites were wide-spread in the 1940's. one influential anti-Semite was Breckinridge Long who put in more immigration laws limiting the amount of immigrants allowed in. Although i do not have the exact dates of years but because of the barriers put in place by Long immigration was cut in half, then nearly stopped at one point during WW2.

Research Paper Intro Paragraph

Why do so many people judge others immediately by their appearance and look down on them if they do not fit the perfect picture of how a man or woman should act? The answer is simple "Gender Roles" the term is a sociologist term for perceived behavior norms. Many parents, teachers, religious figures pass these on without knowing about it. From childhood to adulthood, children are told to act or be a certain way. Enforcing behavioral norms is a bad thing, teaching children to act like a robot and not express themselves freely.

research paper outline

To get the six sources I'll need for my research paper i will need to first pick a topic, I plan on using at least one source for an opposing view of my topic. Once i pick my topic i will have to find some books that deal with my topic. I'll have to look through them and pick out parts that will help support my thesis. After i find two books I'll need to find two online sources dealing with the topic. Another source I'll need is an online database, this is where i can most likely find something to give an opposing view of my research topic

Research Topics

Some topics I'd like to research would be Buddhism, the holocaust, and the film rating system. The reason I would like to do research on Buddhism is because I have been intrigued by the religion for some time and I would like to know more about it. Specifically what are the motivations for joining the religion or what makes if different from other organized religions. The research I would like to do on the Holocaust is specifically why some people think it did not happen. My final possible research topic is the Film Rating System. I'd like to know how motion pictures are rated and if the system is outdated and what could be done to push it up or down to modern movie standards.

         1. Sometimes it doesn’t mean much, other times it is the end of the band.
             a. Sonic Youth were still cool, but the Goo Goo Dolls became different when they went to a major label.
             b. There is no real way to tell if a band will remain popular with indie rockers once on a major label, you’ll just have to get knowledge on the band or you’ll cover will be blown.
